TetherBerry Update

9 March 2009 202 views No Comment

Well, I can say I was definitely surprised by TetherBerry. Installation to the computer and phone was less than ten minutes, that was with the kids interrupting me twice. After that, it went off without a hitch. Surfing was smooth and I did not lose the connection. Mind you, its not broadband, but works in a pinch.

I ran speed tests through five different sites (twice at each one). I averaged the following speeds:

Download – 192 kb/s
Upload – 123 kb/s

This is a great alternative when broadband or Wi-Fi is not available.

Now, my only gripe. I got my email today that TetherBerry is going live. The introductory price will be $39.99. This to me seems high, especially since it is the introductory price and will likely rise. As much as I like this app and am sure many will find it very useful, I will not be purchasing it for now.

Update: Introductory offer is over. The price now is $59.99.
